Other than that one minor issue your game is excellent. What algorithm is used for card shuffling? If you are unlucky you will lose. The Blackjack Strategy Trainer is a free blackjack game that teaches basic strategy while you play. And finally the obvious: Raising your bet or lowering it based on whether you win or lose is bullhonkey. You mention hitting 13v2, which is not correct.
Looking for something more powerful?
Which is this http: I absolutely agree but at the same time you are not looking at the overall negative play on the game itself and how to use it to your advantage. I have won 7 hands out of I am of course down money and actually. I am as well at the mark of betting. Each of your bets have a Regardless of how you wager it. Your method would do just as well in roulette. Raising your bet or lowering it based on whether you win or lose is bullhonkey. Hopefully Tum can have the new developers take a look.
In the meantime, have you tried another browser? This sounds like a memory allocation issue, and another browser may behave differently. My question is , when playing against 6 decks, with late surrender offered, dealer must stand on soft 17, what is your surrender strategy, including a pair of 8s.
I made a mistake. I would have only posted one time and just played more hands but I was getting beaten so bad I thought I might run out of chips if I go through another down swing when a hot deck comes.
That spread is definitely sufficient to beat this game. I no longer have a copy of Blackjack Attack handy to look up the effect. If you want insurance, you put an insurance bet in its bet circle before you click on the continue arrow.
Since I sold the BlackjackInfo site in , I am not involved in the development of the new version of the trainer. Your best bet may be posting on the message forums, where your comments are more likely to be noticed. It used to tell me I should split a pair of 7s against a Every so often I see some ridiculous error in it. We are actually looking to revamp the trainer at some stage in the future too so your feedback and suggestions are appreciated! Wish you would modify the program to allow you to select a counting method from a few popular ones and them display the true count somewhere on the screen.
I use KO while playing this and it would be helpful if I knew how accurate I was counting. Am I looking like I have an edge over the game or is this sample size too small to be meaningful?
If so, you are doing very good. But it would be best to make a judgement after more hands have been played, such as 10K to 20K. I stopped playing because once you start playing enough hands the program starts to get slow.
Thank you for providing such a nice training game, it is very informative and a valuable training tool. I do find the screen difficult to see as the contrast seems to be on the weak side. Other than that one minor issue your game is excellent. Hi i have just started playing blackjack and i am doing fair your basic strategy game is a wonder. I am new to this Blackjack world, but have played around the world. Right now I live in Germany so I have many casinos in many countries to play.
The casinos in Europe they use the same basic rules though they are smaller compared to U. Reminds me of the old days when people dressed up or like a James Bond movie, really cool to see.
I forgot to mention I have noticed on a second hit it sends two cards not one, The game also freezes up and at times gets really slow after so many hands.
I have enjoyed your Blackjack Trainer and I have learned enough to say it has helped me become a better player. You probably already know this, but as good as the Trainer is, it has a few fawls. Such as when a high card appears just about every time like clockwork it equals This makes the Trainer seem to have somewhat unrealistic outcomes. I would like this because I was playing the App and stayed on 16 vs a dealer 10 in a high true count and it said my play was wrong.
I think this would be a cool addition. Can someone post the correct basic strategy deviatons for a hard 10? Someone please correct me if I am wrong. I noticed the trainer looked different and saw that it had been updated.
No, you are likely being confused by the way it pays the bet and then rebets the same amount. I know that my question may be silly, but I am looking for simple methods to win, the casino give us a lot of possibilities and it confuses. The worst blackjack rule give more opportunities than other games. Which rules are best? Winning balance always goes the line of sinusoid. Thought you should know. See notes from others as well. This new version has bugs.
Playing 6D, H17, LS. I made sure the new site owners are aware of these comments. So with Ace,7 vs a dealer 5, you would double.
With 3,4,Ace you would stand, because doubling is not allowed after you hit. Same situation on the I-pad version and the I-Mac desktop version, inability to hit the second hand after splitting.. Sometimes when I split aces I only receive one card on the first ace and no card on the second ace. Just wondering if anyone else is getting errors such as these.
Now that the message boards are reopened, these kinds of questions will get faster and more accurate answers there. I too find the white border glaring and gives me a headache. Needs to be toned down or different color softer on the eyes. Your trainer is the best out there that I have been using these past 30 years. It amazes me to see soo many players play by the seat of their pants having not a clue what they are doing.
CVCX is a slightly less expensive option that handles many simulation questions. While this improvement is small, every little bit helps.
For a card counter, surrender is considerably more valuable for several reasons. The amount of benefit surrender provides for a counter depends on almost everything that can change in the game, penetration, bet spread, etc. If you need an answer, get some software to check your specific conditions. See Blackjack Surrender Explained.
What are they doing to this site? What happened to the original strategy page, where you selected the number of decks and dealer hits or stands on soft 17 etc.? The Strategy Engine is still where it has been for years: I recommend posting this question on the newly re-opened blackjack forums to see if anyone can run a simulation for you with these conditions and betting strategy.
In the short run, if you are lucky you will win. If you are unlucky you will lose. But you always have the best chance by playing correctly. Again, I am sure about my counting and the only thing would be a shallow penetration or software that does not use randomly a full deck of cards. Or where am I wrong? You would only expect to reach the exact expected end count if you saw every card in the deck.
The trainer mimics what you will see in a real casino, shuffling after the end of the hand where the 35th card is dealt in the single deck game. The deck s are normal, and randomly shuffled.
Is that because of penetration or??? I really enjoy your practice platform. I was wondering, can we play online and make money or should we avoid that and only play in casinos? Card counting is not much of an option online, although the possibility does exist in the live-dealer games that a few places offer.
The bonuses and promotions can also be profitable sometimes, but these days it is tough to get an actual positive play at online casinos. So it really depends on what you want from the game. All set now, and back to work.
Will you post something in this section when the new version is out? I want to wait and get the latest.
In the mean time what book or video do you recommend on winning at blackjack? I have only played about 5 times not counting cards at the casinos on the 21 plus 3 card tables and have had some decent luck, especially the 3 card bet and would like to learn a bit more about that betting too. Thanks for your practice game, it has been helpful. Things can certainly change quickly. BlackjackInfo has a new owner who took over this month.
I know the new team has some excellent resources available for blackjack trainer software. If you are referring to the other product on this page, Casino Verite is not involved in these changes, and the latest version is available as always at the provided Amazon links. Going to Vegas in Sept. I have basic strategy down. If you plan to count, you will need to look a lot harder to find decent regular shuffled games at that level.
The first thing to check is make sure that blackjack pays 3: Check TI for some decent low-limit blackjack tables, or look downtown. The rules are generally going to be 6 deck or 8 deck, dealer hits soft 17, no surrender.
Yes, you are right that Flash is dying. My development of the new mobile-friendly HTML5 version has been stalled a bit while my family prepares to move this summer. And yes, I get about an equal number of complaints about the game being rigged to be too easy and too hard. Ken, I just jumped on the trainer after a few months absence. Started reading the comments and noticed that you will be launching a revised version.
Any idea of the approximate launch date? Looking forward to the new version. Thanks again for a great strategy trainer! I will resume development in August, so I now expect a launch in the fall at the earliest. Assuming the same rules, BS, and betting pattern? If prior history is repeated, I will be inundated with emails asking why I made the game so much harder to beat, along with an equal number asking why I made it so much easier to beat!
That would be called luck. What algorithm is used for card shuffling? I think the trainer play along me. When is using late surrender with the dealer ace trainer first offers surrendering instead of insurance. And again I continue to win. May be there is a reason to imitate dealers shuffling, instead of mathematical random shuffling.
You may be right about the surrender issue, although it is possible that the surrender may only work if the dealer does NOT have blackjack. Is there an iOS app version of this trainer for my iPad? Please email your response. The new mobile-friendly version is coming along slowly. I now think early Summer is the target.
Emailed also as requested. Suggestion for future versions of your Strategy Trainer; ties push, rather than dealer wins all ties….? The current Strategy Trainer works just fine in this regard.
Ties are a push. You are being confused by the way the bankroll is adjusted up when the bet is returned to your bankroll, and then down by the bet being made again. If you happen to look at the wrong moment, you only see the second half of that transaction. It works as it should. Yes, you can play as many spots as you like at the table in Casino Verite.
And you can choose to have other spots played by automated players if you like. There is no download for the trainer here. If your device is not compatible with Flash, the current version hosted here on this page will not work. How come when you split Aces and then get another Ace the program will not let you split beyond two hands that is a flaw that needs to be corrected asap. Yes, there is a problem with split Aces in the current version. A completely new trainer is in development and coming along nicely.
Ive been playing on your trainer web getting ready to go to the casino. I noticed that amount won many times is not added to the total. I thoutht maybe I was making a mistake but after careful watching of several hundred hands I confirmed that to be the case.
Kind of makes me wonder if the rest of the software has a problem. Check it out and let me know what gives. No, there is no problem with the paying of winning hands in the free game.
The confusion comes from the way that your balance increases after the hand, and then immediately decreases again as the next bet is automatically made. The best options tend to be through e-wallets such as Skrill or Neteller or cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin or Ethereum because they are fast with no fees.
Paypal is also really good however only UK based online casinos accept it. If you've never used Bitcoin before, we highly recommend reading our guide to find out how. It is by far the safest and most effective payment method for playing at an online casino for US players. If you are unsure of any of these items, do not be afraid to ask customer support.
This will also give you an opportunity to see how responsive and professional their customer support is as well. Just like anything else online, you can easily find reviews of a casino on the web. So as a last point of judgement you can research whether a casino has a historical record of providing a fair and professional service to their customers.
I would be wary of playing at any online casino that hasn't been active over at least 5 years regardless of how lucrative their promotions might be. As mentioned earlier, it is certainly not an unusual occurrence for a casino to close up shop and refuse customers access to their funds.
You should also be wary that many websites including us are affiliates of casinos and get paid a commission if you choose to play there. So you should never take a particular website's review at face value and ignore doing the due diligence in researching further into a casino's credibility.
Depending on which casino you decide to play at, the software that they are powered by is going to determine what your options are. It's also quite common for a casino to be powered by multiple software vendors so that their customers have plenty of options to choose from.
Real Time Gaming, Microgaming and Betsoft tend to have the most RNG blackjack variations but in my opinion playing against a live dealer is the most fun. My favourite live dealer software is Evolution Gaming and we'll touch on that later in this article. A lot of the smaller non reputable casinos use old technology and can not provide a decent mobile experience if any at all and rely on oldschool flash on a desktop browser for their site to function.
However there are certainly many reputable casinos that simply allow you to play from version within the browser that doesn't require a dedicated app. We have an entire section on live blackjack but I'll touch on it briefly here. Here's a video of what it looks like. Live blackjack is a relatively new thing at casinos and due to technology advancements in internet speeds, we can now play on a multiplayer table against a physical dealer streamed over video.
It genuinely does simulate a real casino vibe and the social interaction between other players and the dealer really makes for a fun experience and will make you totally forget about ever playing the RNG tables again. Depending on the casino, there are usually up to 8 seats per table with the option to bet behind other players as well.
Not many casinos are able to provide this yet but here are some notable ones that are leading the pack:. Be wary though that it takes a lot of data to stream to mobile so it's highly recommended to be connected to wifi. Ok so I'm exaggeating slightly but EVERY online casino has a sign up bonus of some sort that sounds like they're giving away free cash.
Unfortunately the vast majority of these promotions aren't as lucrative as they sound and even worse, they don't apply very well to blackjack.
That's why it's extremely important to read over the terms and conditions to be clear of the wage requirements. Wage requirements are the amount that you have to wager before being able to cashout on any bonus received.
Most casinos structure their bonuses like this so if you do choose to play blackjack online do not claim any bonus they offer! The biggest problem is that the decks are shuffled on too regular a basis so the deck penetration will always be too low to gain any profit. Please help me understand this point! However some casinos do offer games with a player advantage if played properly. Unified Gaming had a blackjack game with an 0. Many Real Time Gaming casinos offer a joker poker game with an expected return of Other casinos have promotions in which the player who plays the most hands in a period of time wins a prize, in which a robot player would have a clear advantage.
About your second question the bell curve is a forward looking estimate of the sum of many random variables.
You can not mix together past and future events. Once an event has happened it is no longer a random variable but a cold hard outcome. Starting from hand your results could fall anywhere on a new bell curve. I hope this helps, but it really takes a course in statistics to truly understand. What is the best blackjack program to purchase for my pc.
I want to learn to play BJ but since I am a beginner the tables are too intimidating. I would download some Internet casino software and just play in free mode. However to learn proper basic strategy I would recommend making flash cards with every possible play. Dealing out cards at random will not test you often enough on the soft doubles and splits. I just wanted to make sure that the correct play in the Microgaming single deck game of A,A vs A is to split as shown on your basic strategy card.
Any chance you have the EV of hitting vs splitting on this hand? Based on one deck the expected value of each hand considering the possibility of a dealer blackjack is Splitting is also better for the 4-deck game, which no Microgaming player should be playing since a 1-deck game with the same rules is available.
Why do land casinos make you bet more when playing a second hand in blackjack? When playing on line is there an advantage when playing two or more hands? This will slow down the game and possibly prevent bigger bettors from playing. Not all land casinos have this rule, I think it is more prevalent in Atlantic City, where tables are more crowded, than Las Vegas. Whether online or a land casino there is no advantage to playing more than one hand.
I have down loaded many black jack games from internet both stand alone and on-line. Had played for long time and felt the games are different in difficulty to win especially the slot, pardon me if I am wrong. If it is true than is there any way to find out if the online games are truly random or any trusted organization we can get truly depend on? It is a good sign if a casino has an independent auditor to review the log files for fairness and randomness.
I used to provide such a service to online casinos myself. I have a question regarding the Microgaming no hole card rule for single deck BJ game. I remember reading in some forum that you concluded there is no difference to the HA whether the hole card is dealt or not at the beginning of the game.
I do notice that Microgaming has a higher chance of blackjack. Taking as an extreme example: Please let me know what you think. An unseen card is an unseen card, much in the same way the effect is the same whether the dealer burns a card or deals one less card out of the shoe.
I hope this answers your question. Is there software that will count cards as you input them? Can this be used to play online blackjack? Or does online blackjack shuffle after each hand?
Have a look at Beejack. Most, but not all, casinos shuffle after every hand. I don't know if it practical to actually use this product. If you try it please let me know how you do, I might like to try it myself. The link to Beejack was removed in , due to a potential virus with that site.
Proceed there with caution. I read about someone winning 1. What is robot play, how does it win, and why is it illegal? First, the game was Caribbean 21, not Caribbean Stud.
The casino this money was won from alleges that the player used robot play, which is against their terms and conditions. If this is true the player denies it then it is within their rights to forfeit the winnings. Robot play is a program that can read the cards on the screen and can play against the casino by itself, by simulated mouse moves and clicks, or keyboard actions. Robot play could ensure nice expected hourly profits for the person using it, but not enough to bother actually playing.
Some casinos with no positive expectation game allow robot play and others do not. I do not know why those with no positive expectation games prohibit robot play. Some skeptics claim they retain the right to avoid paying big winners, simply by alleging robot play.
In this situation the casino has released a taped confession in which the player offers to sell the robot. However the player says it was taken out of context. Are there any basic strategy exceptions for doubling and splitting on the Internet when cash back applies to the total amount bet thus giving the player an extra incentive to double or split.
Please assume a cash back rate of 0. I could not find any hand where an extra 0. The closest case I could find, based on six decks and the dealer standing on soft 17, is A,4 against a dealer 4. In that hand doubling costs the player just under 0. So if you can get 0. I was at the Luxor this week and I noticed a blackjack machine that looked much like a video poker machine.
Do these things use random generators like online, or do they work like slot machines? Online blackjack, slot machines, and video blackjack all use random number generators. It is a Nevada state law that an electronic game with representations of cards or dice must be based on fair odds. So the game should be fair with odds the same as in a hand dealt game having the same rules.
I noticed that all video blackjack games that I've played in Vegas pay even money on a blackjack. Is this fair according to the rules of blackjack? Because in a previous question July 4, you said, "It is a Nevada state law that an electronic game with representations of cards or dice must be based on fair odds. What I meant was that images of cards on the screen had to be statistically fair. For example if you took a tally of each card observed in the initial hand of video poker or video blackjack you would see the distribution approaching a flat line over time, much as you would in a hand dealt game.
However there is no law that the standard rules of blackjack must be followed. The machine can legally offer horrible rules like the player losing on ties. Hi, I found a Double Exposure game where the ties push. The full rules are: Dealer hits soft All ties push, except player wins tied blackjack. Player can double on hard 9 to 11 only.
Player can re-split, including unlike tens, to four hands. Double after split allowed. Draw to split aces allowed. This must have a player advantage, can you tell me what it is? As I'm sure you know this game is offered by Lucky Chance casino. Using the appropriate basic strategy for these rules the player advantage is 7. Wait it gets even better. The probability of getting three blackjacks in three hands is 1 in So I simply exited after every hand, except on a push. However I'm suspicious if the player advantage is too high.
That is two red flags. It was my goal to either make a fortune on their Double Exposure game or prove the game was not fair. Following are my results:. The probability of only winning 3 or less is This is using a standard deviation of 1. My source of the 1. This certainly does not rise anywhere near enough to make any accusations. In addition I recorded results all sorts of ways but every test came out looking normal.
I would have played longer but the game play is extremely slow and I went broke. The reason I went broke is I did worse on larger bet sizes and my first few hours I didn't record results but they were not good. So I failed on both my goals. I was too skeptical to deposit again and already wasted several hours on the game.
However, if you wish to take a crack at it then be my guest. How would it change the strategy assuming Cryptologic rules 6 decks and how does it increase the house edge? Not being allowed to split aces increases the house edge by 0. You should only double against a six, otherwise hit.
In Boss Media single-deck blackjack the player has the edge? So I could go to one of the online casinos and play it using optimal strategy AND win over the long run? What am I missing? However if you are going to play anyway you may as well get the best odds possible. Thank your for your informative column. I have been using the "Fun" mode to practice the basic blackjack strategy online Golden Palace and Grand Online Casino.
I generally do well on the fun mode, but when I go to " Real Money " mode I start losing quickly using the same strategy. Do the online casinos change the software randomness for "Fun" mode letting us win, only to entice us to deposit real money.
I know the Elka casinos used to do this for which I blacklisted them , but fortunately they seem to have vanished. If anyone can show me hard evidence that a casino is intentionally allowing players to win in fun mode I would be happy to investigate it. Hard evidence means, at a bare minimum, a record of hands won and lost in each mode, for several dozen hands. Simply telling me that you lost "a lot more" when in real mode is useless. Dear Wizard, I have read your comments about online blackjack and the fact that the decks are shuffled after each hand.
Is there a casino online that has less shuffling or if not, am I forced to play live dealer blackjack which has more decks stacked and at least I can be aware of when shuffling does occur. Perhaps you misunderstood the point I was trying to make in my blackjack appendix The bottom line is that unless you are a card counter shuffling after every hand, as opposed to using a cut card, is a good thing.
